Every second, 640 parcels are shipped in the US.

20% fail to reach their destination on time.

An incredible 11 million parcels per day.

That’s a lot of unhappy customers.

Coros provides visibility into shipment accuracy so that shippers and carriers get your parcel, to you, on time. If you’ve been frustrated by late delivery, then come and help us fix it for everyone.

We use visual imagery to create ground truth data for the supply chain at Fortune 50 scale; we engineer systems that deliver 99.9% accuracy when tracking fast-moving objects, and we guarantee enterprise-class reliability and availability to our customers.

Coros is a seed-stage company with clearly defined MVP and early customers that have validated product-market fit. Our reference customers are household brands helping harden our services for scale.

As the Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of the next module or the next chassis that we bring to market. Coros produces world-class logistics scanning devices that are mechanically challenging to design. Design challenges will include designing IP-rated enclosures, robust structures, passive cooling, cabling, gantry development, EMC design, safety, manufacturability, cost, appearance, tolerances, documentation. The position is based in the Bay Area.

  • Explore new solutions with engineering based on customer data and product requirements.
  • Implement the selected design using SolidWorks 3D CAD and provide all the necessary drawings, critical to function dimensions, and 3D files to allow the designs to be prototyped and manufactured.
  • Structure bill of materials (BOM), release and change the product using product lifecycle management tools (OpenBOM).
  • Provide 3D models to be used in thermal simulations.
  • Design, prepare and source Mechanical Prototypes.
  • Design thermal solutions from thermal simulations and create the drawings and 3D files necessary to prototype and manufacture the parts.
  • Provide PCB design drawings and 3D files to the ECAD design team. Work with the electrical engineer and PCB layout to address placement concerns and verify mechanical viability.
  • Work with CMs to address any DFM concerns they have.
  • Debug design and manufacturing issues in between design releases.
  • Communicate manufacturing design and quality issues to the CM.
  • Track the testing performed at outside labs on your design to capture any additional changes needed.
  • Manage or perform airflow testing on your design.
